Will be attending a wedding Friday evening in Key Largo. Any accessible lighted bridges I could hit with a fly on the way back to Homestead later after the reception? Also, may take the Tamiami Road back north Sat or Sun, any easy places to try?
Thanks

Tamiami Trail either gives you all or nothing, hit the spots where you can pull over and fish the bridges, if you don't get hits in the first 5 or 10 minutesp, up and move to the next spot. If you don't get any action after 4 or 5 stops, call it quits and drive home, it ain't happening. But stop at Taqueria San Julian, at 3575 Bayshore Dr, Naples, FL 34112, for awesome tacos

I've always wanted to walk out on the dock at Robbie's and start freelining greenbacks on heavy casting gear while somebody films it. I've been kicked out of nicer places.

what they said about Key Largo!
As for Tamiami trail, westbound not too far after passing the casino you can cross over the canal at the lock and fish the north side. Park your car and walk. You can catch large mouth bass, Mudfish and other fresh water species. Watch out for gators & moccasins! There is really no room to park and fish along the road.
Tamiami trail goes west from Miami. Once you pass the Micosukee reservation which is 45 mph and make sure do 45 mph...the road curves north for about 5 miles and then curves west again. You can park along the trail and fish that, but, not with a fly rod you will be to close to passing cars. Here you will find bass, gar and ciclids.
If you have your heart set on the fly rod, try the canal to the west of Joanie's Cafe, see below. Usually there is good flow there coming from the glades.
Might get some snooklets, gar and others. These areas are better fished in the colder months. but, you might get lucky and get some resident fish.
Watch out for gators and snakes. Oh and take your bug spray!

As it turned out got a late start Sat evening and didn't have a chance to fish Tamiami as it was dark. However did get to visit Bud and Mary's Sat morning and fished that little bridge. Only a blue runner to hand but at least a Keys fish. A few tarpon were rolling. Also fed the tarpon at the marina, fun to feel like a kid again. Stopped by Sandy Moret's shop and did get to visit with him for a few minutes. Thanks for your replys
