So I'll share some of my custom rod work with you guys. Lamiglas 7'6" Popping Rod, Custom Cork Split Grip Tiger Wrap: A tiger wrap consists of two layers of thread sandwiched in layers of epoxy. The base layer has two threads wrapped side by side, left to right. On this rod forest green & silver metallic threads. Over this is two layers of epoxy, the thicker the epoxy between thread layers the more holographic the wrap appears. Wrapped over the base wrap & epoxy is again two threads, but this time one is removed. This thread is a sacrificial thread and only serves to create a gap or open space evenly down the wrap. This wrap is also wound right to left to help create the illusion. Once both threads are wrapped the sacrificial thread is removed & epoxy applied. What is left is what you see below. My photography skills stink & lighting my my apartment is as bad. Tiger Wrap in Split Grip There are a few other rods I have not photographed yet, will this weekend & update. So what do you all think?
