So I'll share some of my custom rod work with you guys.

Lamiglas 7'6" Popping Rod, Custom Cork Split Grip

Tiger Wrap: A tiger wrap consists of two layers of thread sandwiched in layers of epoxy. The base layer has two threads wrapped side by side, left to right.  On this rod forest green & silver metallic threads.  Over this is two layers of epoxy, the thicker the epoxy between thread layers the more holographic the wrap appears.

Wrapped over the base wrap & epoxy is again two threads, but this time one is removed.  This thread is a sacrificial thread and only serves to create a gap or open space evenly down the wrap.  This wrap is also wound right to left to help create the illusion.  Once both threads are wrapped the sacrificial thread is removed & epoxy applied.  What is left is what you see below.  My photography skills stink & lighting my my apartment is as bad.

There are a few other rods I have not photographed yet, will this weekend & update.

So what do you all think?

    If your really that bored,
I'll bet you've spent quite a bit of
your time working on your rod.

     ;)

Gramps, that was so high over the net
    anyone could'a spiked it.

    Fishing rod customization,
    never done that.
    More pics...how to!

Brett I updated the post with some information. Guess I could do a "how to" this weekend, got enough free time.

Will post some pictures of the next rod on the bench which has a nice double chevron wrap about 7" long. May have my closed diamond wrap rod too....

Putting the color preserver on the wraps for this rod now, should be finished by Wens.

I'd be afraid to use something that intricate for fishing.
I have a tendency to destroy tackle.

    ;)
