Whats with all the Yamaha 4 stroke hate? Personally still running a 75 Merc 2 Stroke on my current rig and it has never let me down but its obviously harder and harder to find good 2 strokes with low hours now days. Obviously if I was paying full price it would be another Merc or Suzuki, is there something I'm not aware of about the newer 4 stroke yamis?

Not sure, the yammy 4 stroke 70 is a great motor. I fish both Suke 60 on my boat and my good friends yammy 70 often. It’s 2k more than Suzuki, which is lighter and probably has a LITTLE more torque(it’s pretty close). I think the Yammy is a LITTLE quieter(again pretty close). Probably just comes down to weight and price.

    I was just being funny.
I know of someone that has an HPX -T and two guys with HB Pros with 70 Four strokes. All three are happy with their motors.

Suzuki 60 is not that much lighter at 229lb. I think F70 is closer to 260lb, they don’t measure the weight with everything per there website.

Yes dry weight is 253lbs for F70, not including oil or prop. Suzuki df60a is 229lb. You are probably looking at df60AV, big foot.

Ya it was the AV never owned a Suzuki but the guys I know that run them like them. I was a mercury man till mercury let me hang with a bad running 115 and they did not care if it ran right or not, that's when I changed to Yamaha and they have always stood behind there engines.

I second this one. I'm close to having mine done, and doing a Merc 60 but JB says his favorite motor on that hull is the Yamaha 70
