I made an attempt at repairing some of the gazillion screw holes in my new to me Century 1901 and used gelcoat for the first time. The hardest part was getting the color right. I will move to some other spots on the hull this winter. I attached a link to my photo bucket if interested.
A lil idea about the diamond nonskid....You could always use some expanded aluminum mesh and "stencil" your diamonds with gelcoat..It would take a little practice but I'm sure you could get it right..or at least alot less work than filing!
