I made an attempt at repairing some of the gazillion screw holes in my new to me Century 1901 and used gelcoat for the first time. The hardest part was getting the color right. I will move to some other spots on the hull this winter. I attached a link to my photo bucket if interested.

    Well done!
How did you repair the diamond nonskid? I know its a bear (so i hear)
And yes, the top of that console looked like a 12 guage with bird shot went at it

Thanks for the compliments matching the color was the hardest thing next to taking sandpaper to gel-coat :-?. I used a file to cut the nonskid back in. Took some time and I did get a little dizzy staring at it but I consider it a success too. This winter I will tackle some scrapes on the hull

I thought about making and using a mold but I don't know how you could get the proper elevation(too high or too low).
It was pretty easy to cut with the file. I learned the trades from some old school guy's and sometimes hand tools do the best work. I still have two sharp handsaws in the garage, crosscut and rip ;)

A lil idea about the diamond nonskid....You could always use some expanded aluminum mesh and "stencil" your diamonds with gelcoat..It would take a little practice but I'm sure you could get it right..or at least alot less work than filing!
