I am in the middle of mounting my transducer to my boat, and found out I made a bonehead move. I put the transducer right over the bunks.

I have a few options it seems:
Cut the bunks shorter
Put a new stern saver on (I can’t for the life of my figure out how to get the one on already off)
Get one of those Sully mounts and be done with it.

Can cutting my bunks shorter solve it and let me run as is? Picture below

Two other options.
1. Move boat back on trailer and reposition winch stand.
2. Unbolt bunk board from bracket and move it forward and remount it.

Be careful if you move the boat back on the trailer. Towing a trailer with too little tongue weight is no fun. I'd move the bunks forward. They don't need to extend beyond the transom anyway.

with shorter bunks also be careful of your boat falling off the back when backing down a ramp. Don't ask me how I know.

I have my bunks nearly flush with the boat. You can move them or cut them.
