Welcome. Yeah, those oyster beds can be tricky.
Grew up fishing South Bay but mostly wading (even when I had a skinny boat there).
That's still one of my favorite places to catch tailing reds on a fly. I haven't found anywhere else where they are that accessible (and willing to jump on just about anything you get near them).
