Got this gheenoe from my brother. Needs transom rebuilt and a few things patched. Going to post my progress. If anyone has any tips they are appreciated. Would like to remove center live well maybe ? Also rub rail may be repaired in future.

Try to balance the weight by shifting some weight forward. Battery forward is ideal. Consider raising the transom a bit. I raised mine 2 1/2” and get no cavitation with a 9.9 Mercury 4 stroke. And keep it light. Fight the urge to add too much.

Thanks for the advise I have a jack plate to add onto the back that will give it about an inch and a half higher then top of transom.

I'll definitely be looking into putting battery forward. Great idea found a lot of other small damage now lol gotta get to work !
