I am replacing the shift cable on my Honda BF40 Outboard. Are there any tricks to doing it? Ive ordered the correct size already, it arrives today. Ive never done this before so looking for any tricks. As far as I know ive just got to have her in Neutral, undo the cable from the motor, undo the cable from the remote shifter on the console and reinstall. SURELY there is something more to it than that.

Thanks in advance for any direction.

After you remove the old one, put the new one on in reverse...done

If you have to change of the little fittings on the end, you want to make sure that when the shifter and the motor are both in neutral, the cable is just the right length so that it can slide on and off without pushing the shifter lever on the motor.

Thanks guys, it was definitely pretty easy. Having never done it before I was a little timid about doing it.

    Cheers [smiley=1-beer.gif]
