So im fixing my hull and im getting to the finishing part . What is fairing resin? Do i need to buy it? I originally bought fiberglass resin jelly to finish it off before gelcote is this acceptable? It says waterproof

Oh boy what? Called 3m and spoke to tech and was told only difference between resin jelly and marine filler is theres vynl ester resin and the hardener is slower. said i could even mix in resin with the jelly to thin out

I was more looking for a top coat before i gelcote
search "there's a hole in my boat" on you tube. the guy has a whole series on fiberglass repair and he is the best.

This... Andy does great work and does a great job explaining in laymen's how to go about a repair! Heck, I know what I am doing and still watch his videos!
