    Hey guys,
Somebody give me a brief education. I purchased some 6 oz. cloth that on the back of the package states "non-alkali". Never seen this before. What's up?
    Thanks

Originally fiberglass was made using soda-lime, that's A glass.
The newer stuff is E glass made using alumino-borosilicate.

There are other grades like S and C for other uses.

non-alkali glass uses paraffin wax. Used more commonly in heat wraps (ie: boiler or steam pipes) than what you want it for.

Buy your glass and supplies from a place that is in the glass business such as FGCI, Fiberglast, or Raka.
