Met up with a group of friends for a trip to the Everglades and 10K Islands for some camping and fishing. Most of us launched out of Port of the Islands and met up at the island we were camping at. First day was great weather but then the winds picked up each day after that until the day we left (usual story). Even with the front moving through and the wind fishing was pretty good. I was fishing artificials 100%, mostly paddle tails on 1/4 jig heads. The water was very cloudy due to all the wind/wave action. It was interesting in many of my snook places there were no snook but lots of red fish. Usually I catch 10X more snook than reds but this trip it was just the opposite. One day it was so windy only one of our group left the island. Fortunately on the leeward side of the island there was a nice flat and we caught some reds and snook by wading.
