I did find a better prop. It's the same diameter and pitch but a four blade instead. Same top speed and even quicker on plane. As far as the RPM goes, the tach has lost its mind- it's readout is not based on reality.

The propellor that is currently on my boat is a Mercury Black Max 9 1/2 x 11 3RH AL.
Wide open throttle with 2 of us is 21 mph at 5,100rpm. Shouldn't the WOT rpm be between 5,500 and 6,000?
If so and I drop down to a 10" pitch what might I gain and what might I loose?
