Yeah! Hard to believe, but we fly fish for carp here from skiffs. Here's an image from Saturday on a Hell's Bay. Quite popular activity here in North Texas nowadays.

Amazing. I lived in DFW for five years before moving to the coast. How did I not know about carp fishing from skiffs?! Sounds like a blast.
