Just picked up an 8wt Douglas Sky to do some bonefishing in Biscayne Bay.

I have 8wt Rio Bonefish Quickshooter on there now but I’m looking to get a new line. Im leaning towards Cortland Liquid crystal in the flats taper.

Anyone have the Sky in a 8wt? What floating line do you like on it?

Thanks!

The Cortland LC Flats throws really nice on that rod (210g). But the SA Amp Smooth and Amplitude in the Bonefish tapers are both amazing on it (almost no difference and both 210g, which is spot on for that rod). I also threw a beta SA Amp Redfish line and it too was amazing on that rod. The only line that I want to try before I fully decide which line it likes best is the Wulff BTT in a 7wt (which is the weight of an 8wt SA Mastery Saltwater or Redfish 225g for an 8wt). I haven't tried the SA Mastery Saltwater on it, but I do like that line too on other rods (good all-around line too).

I'm not sure if I'll ever buy another Rio or Airflo line, Tho I've yet to try a Rio Direct Core Flats Pro yet and compared it to the others. The taper is very interesting, that's for sure, but who knows what their head weights are.
