Living on the Nature Coast...much different than Pinellas....wanted to try and avoid as many rocks/boulders as possible...so decided to copy others ideas of a homemade compression plate in an effort to get the motor as high as possible on my flat bottom job boat. Didn’t really care too much about speed, just holeshot and shallow running. So far it’s works amazing. With my old prop (Solas Saturn 3 blade) I was able to raise motor another 1 3/4!!
Just got a 4 blade SRT prop to try. Maybe it will bite a little better and run a little higher!?
Anyways...here are some pics. 3/16” aluminum plate and 2” angle.
