What is the suggested method for installing a deck plate for under deck access? Biggest issue that I may encounter is I believe the fuel is right below where I want to install the plate. I'm thinking a hole saw and just going really really slow. What does the MS collective say?

Hole saw and go really slow. Make sure your arbor bit doesn’t drill a hole through the tank if it protrudes too much past the hole saw teeth. Drill in reverse to keep the hole saw teeth from grabbing and shredding the glass/gelcoat if you are drilling through that.

Once you get through the first skin and into the core remove the pilot bit and continue slowly.
I've found if you tape up the hole template with blue 3M painter's tape before cutting/drilling, that will help minimize gel coat splintering too.
Good deal. Wish I would know about the reverse thing before I drilled a hole for my light bar cable, coincidentally said light bar has been laid to rest without even being used on the boat. POS Amazon stuff. At least I am going to learn glass & gel repair soon.
