Decal removal

Hello all,

I've been searching for a new skiff for about a month and after missing out on a pristine/restored HPX I may have found another good boat but it needs cosmetic work.

The current owner did not use a boat cover and as you can see in the photo he had a fish measuring tape decal on the deck that got fried. The boat needs a good cleaning and detailing but I'd like to know if I can remove the decal without too much damage. It's baked on good. Trying to avoid the expense of new non slip or Awlgrip.

Any advice is appreciated.

I ran a granite countertop shop for years we would make a paste out of hydrogen peroxide , baking soda & couple drops of dish soap. Make it thick. We used it to pull stains out of the stone , usually red wine.cover w plastic wrap ,tape down the edges ,let it work. Hours. Starving it for oxygen is suppose to make it pull harder .It works on my non skid well I’d stay away from any kind of mechanical cleaning , too easy to burn thru the finish.

I've used one of those to take off a wrap of a box truck before. Eats right through it. Definitely the right tool for the job. Otherwise it's a lot of elbow grease.
Thanks for the tips. I want to make sure it's doable before buying.
As mentioned above, a rubber wheel is the best tool for decal removal. I've tried just about every other method at one time or another. Bottom line: a rubber wheel is by far the most effective.
