Some of us never grow up and still don’t care whaf anyone thinks about what we like to drive. I paid for my shit from the time I was 12.Struggling to remember caring what my elders thought about my headers and cherry bomb glass packs back in the day... 🤔
Why does that bother you?I mean how many trucks do you see at the ramp that have tens of thousands of dollars in lifts, giant rims, and giant boggers….just to have to buy a drop hitch to do the one thing you bought the truck to do…tow the boat
Good looking truck.
I’m trying to pick an internet fight…please play along!it doesn’t lol, just a joke
Wishing that Alumiduty shell was still made out of steel. I’m in one right now and when it rains you might as well not bother trying to talk on the phone or anything else that requires your full attention. A deer t-boned me a few weeks ago and crumpled the front quarter panel like a beer can…I think he's compensating for something![]()
I’ve towed a Chittum from the Keys back to Texas up 75 north of Miami and Houston traffic was the worst. I despise that place. The other time I towed one back from Palm City and same thing…Houston traffic gave me a new ulcer. That Florida traffic is something special though, not discounting how crazy people drive there but if you haven’t driven in Houston you should give it a try some time.I will echo Bobs sentiment driving in Miami/South Florida while trailering is a bitch. Case in point, I went fishing with @DBStoots and on the way back this convo came up and Dave was telling me about this time some idiot passed him trailering his skiff on the shoulder. I shit you not within 5 minutes a pimped out Escalade on dubs blows by us on the right shoulder. Startled the shit out of me🤣
I purposely bypassed that Miami bullshit. I was in it about 5 years ago and made me never want to go back to that quadrant of Florida…Palm city is the boonies around here you want the madness it’s a Miami-Dade thing. You can literally feel it as you cross into dade county. I75 is easy peasy 😜
You ever seen a five ton diesel SUV on 35” rubber doing 110? I saw you in my rear view mirror on my way through a while back ole son!You should come up here to the 100mph cars racing on I-20 and 285 during the day and night. I drive 75 mph in the 70 zone but almost blown off the road by way faster 80 and 90 cars coming by
We saw three racing going over 100 this afternoon coming back from Atlanta where we had brunch at The Whitehouse restaurant and my wife did some shopping while I napped in the truck
If it doesn’t affect you there’s no reason to concern yourself with it. Now if it’s a squatted truck that’s a different story…and if it’s a squatted truck pulling a jet ski burn the whole rig! Those giant trucks are not cheap either, add in all the customizations and you're looking at up to six figures and 10+ year loans with shitty interest rates on a depreciating asset.
Have fun with your rolling mortgages I guess![]()
I guess you have not caught on yet but I like to joke around now and then. Don’t get your panties in a backlash. For the record I don’t give a shit what people drive as long as it’s not putting myself or my family at risk…Or pulling a jet ski…Who said I'm concerned about it, I just think it's stupid and this thread is about stupid vehicles. A giant lifted truck on public roads is just as stupid as a squated truck, I don't see how one would be less stupid than the other lol
I post the wrong photo at the beginning of this thread…Nah..... he drives a Prius![]()
How many people have you asked?I don't understand 80K for a new truck and then spend another 10K to 30K on it to be cool.
Hey Man !
Road Trip?
Sure !!
Where to?
Miami to Texas.
Im In ... When do we leave?
Can we take your car?
My truck isn't really set up to go far..... Fuel, Tires, Rough Ride, Noise....You Know!
Can you make a 5K plus trip to somewhere in the new 100K plus truck?
Most Will Say NO
But what if it’s pulling a jet ski? This is comical coming from a bunch of folks that spend money on skiffs, boats, fishing gear etc! 🤣🤣
To do what? Run to places “they dont NEED to go” to have some fun.
Humans have the worst time with perspective
I can throw a rock in the air and hit two dumbasses just about anywhere these days.2 at work.
Say the truck is not made to ride a long distance
@CKEAT weren’t we discussing this a while back about your truck? People stereotyping you for having a taller truck with bigger tires? Are you scared to tow your Chittum, a loaded down trailer, travel long distances etc?2 at work.

You need to re-gear for better MPGJudging by the MPG of my stock F150 3.5L Ecoboost... I can't imagine what it would costs to tow a skiff with 12" lift rolling on 37"s from TX to the Keys.
San Antonio to Key West roundtrip is about 3,000 miles. 7 MPG would be about $1,500 in fuel alone. Add a 1-night hotel each way and you're looking at $1,800 plus the time. I think I'd just leave the skiff at home, take the wife's car for $225 in gas and split charters for 3 days for the same money.
I have a 5 ton Powerstroke Excursion with 4” lift, 35” rubber and average 16mpg running my hottest racing tune. Stock 3.73 gearing and when I go to 4.10 it will absolutely improve performance and fuel mileage.Going from a 3.73 to a 3.55 in a F150 only yields about a 0.25 MPG improvement.
Usually when you add big tires, don't you usually go up to something like a 4.10 or 4.30 to compensate for the added torque required to get it moving? I don't believe that maintains MPG. Even if you change gearing, you can't improve the degraded aerodynamics.
I have to yet to see any full-size truck return near-stock MPG running a 4" lift and 35" tires. A 12" lift and 37's would kill it. Hell, the increased weight of going form a 40lb P tires to the same size 65lb LT tires on stock suspension will cost you 1 MPG.
4.10 gets it back to spinning like it’s got stock diameter tires. It does pretty damn good the way it is.4.10's with my 35" tires
My last had 4.88's to turn 37" tires.
You can go deeper, into the low 5.xx depending on the axle.
Yes and a custom transmission with some goodies. You've got a diesel, too, right? That torque will compensate too, to a degree.
