If you look up the word ghetto, this picture might show up next to it in the dictionary.

I got all excited until I saw that 3" hole below the water line on the side of the hull :'( Who da fuq would do that? It looks all ragged out rusted and corroded. Plus its a tunnel. :p But the price is good. Damn just damn :-/

No doubt I could never bring myself to drill a hole in the side of a skiff like that, but there's a good fiberglass guy here who would make that go away pretty quickly. Don't know much about a Nissan…

Nissans are great. If you know about Tahotsu you know about Nissan. Yes you can make that all go away for a price. But then it ain't such a good deal. That trailer could use some love also from the looks of it. I may have to take a look in person. Its only about 45 miles from me. I am still tempted :)

What do you guys think would be a good price, keeping in mind I would want to take it to HB and have them go through it and repair it.

I'd go wet test the boat with 12.5K in hand. If everything checks out... Motor compression, fuel tank, electrical and so on, offer 12.5K. This allows 2k for a new Ramlin if it needed down the road. If you find a ton of things that needs work, you can negotiate down as far as he'll go.

I'd take my skiff to Glasser before I took it to HB.. Glasser has been known to fix things that HB could not or would not..

I was thinking a similar number like 12.5k or 13k, but 12.5 cash sounds more realistic considering the brand of motor (they might be good motors but it's no yamaha when it comes to resale and there are far fewer places to service, get parts etc.) and the needed fiberglass work. Good luck

Yes you have to scratch your head about that live well and the below the water line hole in the hull. If I was to fish in it I would remove that and temp plug the hole for POM. Still looks line a nice boat for the season and then make a winter project for a spring unveiling.
Anyone have a $ figure on what you would be looking at to do it right stem to stern? We already know 2 k for the trailer.

Anybody got a real world draft on a tunnel? I know the standard is stupid skinny. I assume with the tunnel you will lose 2-3 inches. So I was thinking 7ish or so. But really have no idea.

I'll chime in for resto price. It all depends on how far you want to go in the restore, do you want show room new from all new wiring, rigging, hatch latches and inside of the hatch to be perfect I would say 8-10k. But to just flip the boat fix the hole and repaint the bottom 2-3k and another 2-3k to do the entire top side excluding inside of hatches. That's about what I've paid on my last three boats.

I second glasser too. I watched his restores on this site and they are really special. Either him or islamarine. Don't skimp on the painter/glass worker I did once and I never will again. All boat shops are not created equal. Some of the things I have seen passed as off as repair are almost funny if they didn't expect actual money for payment.

I think the boat's worth it but your not gonna make money on it and you gotta love the boat for what it is.

Anyone run a shallow water pickup in the lagoon? Seems like it would get clogged running the grassflats?

Can I get some help from my HB gurus? The plan is to go look at the skiff this weekend. Didn't know if anyone could tell me if this is a converted side console. I've only seen one other hells bay with a small console like this before and it was at islamarine. The reason I'm asking is because the throttle control looks to be on backwards to give the wheel clearance from the throttle lever. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
