Here is a little fun exercise... try to find one boat/skiff from the year you were born...

This is a 14'-0" 1955 Thompson TVT Super Deluxe Runabout (Catalog Order #346).
The specs from the 1955 Thompson catalog read:
    14' length, 54" width, 22" depth, weight 250 pounds & capacity 700 lbs.
This boat has a factory fiber-glassed hull, glassed from spray rail to spray rail.
1955 was the first year Thompson offered a fiber-glass overlay on their wood hulls.

1984....not really a good time for fishing boats...but we did have a couple goodies. Open Transom not so great, but the hull was a beast!

We just installed a splashboard and counter at the back of the cockpit.
Kept the water out and made for a nice rigging/bait prep table.

There wasn't a lot to chose from in 1944.  This was my choice through most of my life.  This is PT-105.
