Visiting my folks up in Southern NJ, just happens to be blueberry season. Spent the day picking, eating, baking, and more eating.

I probably ate 3lbs of blueberries today.

    Me and Sis picking:

    Fresh blueberries...dang, now I'm jealous!
Wait, I live in NE Florida, it's that time of year here too.
Come to think of it, yep, got a gallon or two in the fridge.

And didn't have to travel far at all...

Brett, they are better eating lathered in sugar and baked. Trust me!

    Gotta watch my weight Tom.
I've reached that age where the ole metabolism
no longer operates at 110% efficiency.
Now I eat 'em like cereal for breakfast.
In a bowl with a splash of milk.

    ;)

Back home today. I didn't think the airlines would allow me to carry 19lbs of blueberries (or 15 pies) home with me as carry-on so my folks are going to have to eat the remainder.

Trust me though, in a day and a half I put a serious dent in the original 2 buckets!

    Nice post Tom.

There is an older guy on the CG forum who makes wine from wild FL blueberries he gathers himself. He usually brings a bottle or two to the Gheenoe Rally each year. Its amazingly good.
