That's a good price on the Walther, I bought one about a year ago for around that and the prices have gone up since then. Great little gun, a lot of fun to plink with. Super-light also. Browning buck mark is way more accurate, but not as fun to plink with IMHO.

A good comparison article on the Walther and a Ruger .22: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=190643

    Cool thread.

Anybody know anything about Handheld VHFs? For $30 I might pick up that Cobra to throw in my ditch bag. I won't ever need a VHF in the Lagoon, but it might come in handy on trips to Flamingo or the keys.

Is it worth getting that Cobra, or should I pony up the $100 for one of the better models?

Black Friday ads for Boaters World

Hey all. I am talking to the manager at West Marine and I hope to have their ads by tomorrow night for you as well. As it stands I have culled the best deals out of the West Marine Black Friday ad. The sale starts Friday morning and ends on Sunday evening. However, one exception is that if they're sold out then I can special order as long as it's still the weekend. (I talked to my district manager about this forum and he was very happy, leery, but happy to help out) :)
    So, here ya go...

As the older guys know, I don't make anything off of this, I am simply pointing our more economically like-minded folks to some real deals. If you can't find them in your store (call first) then call me and I will personally get the products in your hot little hands.

(Garmin) Nuvi 200w: it's the wide screen. Regularly $299. From Friday till Sunday night it's $219. Yep. That is a screaming deal. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=9122

Outer Banks round outdoor grill in stainless. This is the little gas grill - 120 sq inches of cooking space.regularly $99. From Friday till Sunday night it's $69.

How about this one - Okuma Ignite 34 Spinning Reel - was $39. Now $19(!) but this one is a "while supplies last". Have your store check their other stores in their district to see if they have any left.

    T-Bags - Gheenoes looooove t-bags. Regularly $29-39. Now $19. through Sunday.

Okuma Aveon spinning reels - regularly $129. Now $69(!) but this one is a "while supplies last". Have your store check their other stores in their district to see if they have any left.

Shakespeare guide series pliers - regularly $49 - now $29.99 through Sunday

Buy any cheapo pair of shades under $50 and get second pair of = or lesser value free. not bad.

    And the best for last...
ALL EXIDE BATTERIES 30% OFF these three days only!! Dude, that's cool.

That was a lot of typing for a guy that types with two fingers! my phone is 451 - 5411 with volusia county area code.

Handhelds are usually 4-7 watts and yes, you should carry one in the 'ghoon. AC and I once got lost when we had an electronics failure and the gps failed on us in the islands up by New Smyrna. Remember folks, just because you know where you are doesn't mean you know where you're going.
That Cobra is a cheeeeap radio with minimal watts and minimal channels but it's just fine for an emergency radio. Buy it and a dry bag ($5) and keep the batteries OUT of the radio during storage to prolong life of both.
