After reading the thread on John Emery, it reminded me of an old client that has passed. We spent many days in the boat chasing trout in Montana, while telling stories of past fishing adventures. He really lit up when talking about saltwater adventures he had been on over his many years. At the time I was just beginning to have significant opportunities to chase saltwater species on fly. One day shortly after, what became his last trout fishing trip, I received a package in the mail from him. It was this reel that must have had some great stories behind it. He included a short note stating he hoped that the stories with that reel would continue with me. He passed a couple weeks later!! Always wished I could have had more time listening to his great stories and helping create more lasting memories for him.
