How old is this reel I’ve bever seen the Billy Pate reel cover. Billy is my wife’s great uncle.

Teddy used a variety of reel covers over the years before the newer series of reels came along - My old Bonefish (a direct drive right hander that I'll never part with...) model came with a brown cover... it's at least thirty years old now...

Most that I know much prefer a more generous sized reel cover - tight fitting ones simply don't hold up very well to hard use (at least they never have for me - you should see the cover on my Tarpon model...).
