Did you buy the skiff from a former gun runner?

I added lead to the guide posts on a trailer I used to own. When I replaced the galvanized wheels with aluminum (dual axle), the trailer would float up. The added lead helped it stay anchored on the ramp.

Didnt think about it till someone said it. During rigging they use lead bags to hold stuff in place while the glue dries. I think this was left in the hull from rigging the pumps in the back deck. It was about 10lbs give or take.

I wish I would have taken photos of the start and not just what it looks like now. I'm working on a template for seadek on the cockpit area this week.

I know they place ballast on large boats to level them. Wouldn’t think so on a skiff. However on an old boat I had. The manufacturer foamed in all the scraps which I discovered on a refurb. Who knows.
