I always name them, never display them. Seems a little corny when I see a small boat with a big name splashed on it. Sportfishermen and Sailboats, yes, skiffs, a more subtle approach.

Saw an ugly old beat up dingy named "the Polish Princess" and busted out laughing. Clever.
