Going to look at one this weekend and was wondering on everyone's opinions of them.

Also wondering if there's anything in particular to look for as I have heard that Ankona is not exactly the greatest at QC.

Seems like a good "compromise" skiff as I need more of a family friendly skiff than a technical poling skiff.

Went and looked at it today, it is the same skiff and it's really nice. Just have a lot to think about, finances and whatnot. If we decide to move forward we will take it out on the water for a test run.

Also going from a dead simple 14' skiff to this one is quite a jump, can't decide if I want to go with a simple and light poling skiff or go all out for something like this one (it's up there in weight), I always see about guys selling off their bigger fully rigged skiffs/bay boats for something smaller and simple and I don't wanna be one of those guys my wife would kill me lol.

I will say I am a bit of a minimalist and that's working against me at the moment

Great question. The Tavernier fits 4, I have 7 kids, 4 still at home and my wife wants a bigger boat to take 7 out on. I’m looking at a 21 foot to meet that need. My oldest son at home is an avid fisherman so he wants to keep a fishing boat. I purchased the tavernier knowing it could handle the 4 people, but he fell in love with the advent when we were at Ankona. Typically there’s only 2 of us that go out and fish the bushes and flats so we will trade up to more of a techinical skiff and have a family boat and technical fishing boat.
