I'm totally new on here, but I joined because I need some help.

I'm trying to buy a boat, and am on a strict budget. Just want something that I can take my kids out with. I don't mind working on it, but don't want a money pit.

I saw this 15' American Skiff (ad says it's an "American 15" model) near my house, but I can't find ANYTHING about this boat, online.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? Does anyone know anything about this hull?

    Welcome to the forum.
Check under Coral Bay fishing boats, same builder.
Is this the hull? 15 XL?

Looks like a cool little boat. Im currently restoring something like it. Its a hobie power skiff. Kinda like a mini bay/ flats boat.

Yep, that's the same. The 15 footer. Any idea what a boat like that is worth, in about 75% condition? The guy has a 40 horse johnson 2 stroke on the back of it, and a polling platform.

The trailer needs some work (he says it's about 65%)

There is no good answer to that cost question.
Too much depends on condition, visible/invisible problems
age and wear. Only way I can estimate cost is to take
a notepad and climb all over the hull, inside and out.
Note every crack, dent, scratch, corrosion area.
Inspect engine, pressure test the lower unit, check compression, spark,
cylinder walls, potted electrical components, rust areas.
Then sit down and figure the cost of repairs/replacement
    to make the boat/engine/trailer safe.

Here's a starting point for cost basis
