Haha, well I did, but I recently found something that will suit my needs just a little bit better.

I'm not sure if there's a recommended max posted (I'll check the boat itself when I get home), but I wouldn't put more than a 9.9 2-smoke on it, simply from a weight perspective. Again boat weighs only just north of 100lbs so a little goes a long way.

rated to 6 .i know someone that put a 15 on one with some weight up front and almost went titantic,it was a little choppy and the bow came down hard i think a 8 would get it up to 17 to 20 i wouldnt want to go faster than that in a 96lb canoe

Let me also state that if you've contacted me after seeing my Craigslist ad and then have ran across this post, there is nothing wrong with the canoe whatsoever.  I simply purchased the canoe, found out shortly after that my budget was increasing quite a bit, so I put down a deposit to have an Ankona built.  Rather than keep the canoe and risk not selling it in time, or worse yet, damaging it from use, I've decided to sell it.
