Okay so I have an 89' mercury 9.9 pushing my 15.5 foot alumninum v-hull. The rubber bushing started slipping then went out completly. The alumninum 3 blade prop that was on it was a 12 pitch( I think) that was the only number that I could find. The prop was torn up pretty bad so I need a new one. I run in shallow water a lot! The boat weighs approximently 400 to 500 pounds just guessing though. The boat has never been very fast and it only planes with one person sometimes and even then it takes forever. What prop would yall recommend for me?

What would the difference in that and what I had? I know nothing about props so I'm just curious.

So a 9x9 alumninum prop will get me a faster holeshot and will raise the rmps up. What kind of top speed should I be getting? I was getting like 13-16 with on person with the 12 pitch. Do they have cupped alumninum props or is that only in SS? Oh I wish I had the income for a 25hp tiller:(

Somewhere around 20 mph with a light load
There are both cupped aluminum and stainless out there.
I'm using a Turning Point Rascal aluminum right now on my 9.9.
