40 K Dead at sea ?

    Dang I Can't remember the Leader that sent 40 k warriers out to sea in flat bottom boats that all sank .

    Just a guess but sounds like Napolean Bonoparte. He supposedly had flat bottom boats that could carry upwards of 500 troops each.

    This from an American history class. We had a quasy treaty with England and France was so pissed, they wanted to commandeer any American sailing vessel. From there, I don't remember much more but France might have wanted ti invade England.

    Not the only case of a landlubber commander not understanding
    different boats for different waters. The same mistake is repeated
    many times in military history.

    Isn't it funny how history repeates itself so often? Why don't people look back sometimes and say "Let's not try that again, ever."

    Yet the dunces of the world always try again and again, and lose everytime.
