Used whips appear to be a better investment than gold they either appreciate or at the least holding their value. Sure are nice boats.

Agreed! Beautiful boat and restored but at the end of the day its still 15 years old for $32K? Isnt a new one only like $44?

There's a reason why people are buying these skiffs and throwing 5,10,15K into them. They don't build them like they used too.

probably can get a NEW base Whipray Classic tiller on a galv trailer for high 30's and still have a sweet set up.

custom paint, console, alum trailer, etc will def get into the 40's

but a 15 yr old well maintained boat/motor CAN look and fish exactly like a new one at half the price. Now that price is creeping higher.

As long as HB can maintain their business model making small numbers of very expensive toys for people with money to afford them the used market will remain very strong. There are more people wanting classic 16' Whips than are available.

Like always mentioned before... The boat is worth what someone will pay for it & clearly someone felt the worth of a 99' whipray to be low $30's..

There is a few reasons why the price is so high on these used skiffs...

    1) they are great skiffs and have a big following
    2) the price of the new ones keep increasing every single year and sometimes twice a year
    3) probably one of the biggest reasons, people jump on them instantly so the sellers can pretty much name their price. There is no time for negotiation, if you don't buy it because you think its overpriced the next guy will come in and give full asking price because he doesn't want to lose out on owning a HB (whether its actually worth the money or not)

It's a sellers market, happy hunting....
