I wanted lots of deck, I wanted no seats, and I wanted a pure fly fishing boat to chase great northern pike on my favorite lakes. This is what I did.
I did replace the transom with carbon core ( worst customer service ever ) cause the old transom was in horrible condition.I also raised the transom and motor. I was a bit worried as the motor is higher than it should be, but it seems to work fine. Made the transom cap as well I got this beauty for $1000. So that afforded me money to try and level it out with a 12 gallon tank up front and 3 batteries ( only two at the moment ) to counter out the weight of the 80 HP motor. This did level it out. Swapped out throttle and shifting cables, new gas lines. New seal on steering tube, and whatever else I’m not remembering. The bass boat is sort of a skiff now. It can still plane out at full throttle, but it plows through at lower speeds. In the end I would say I got what I wanted out of it
All on a very limited budget
