Pains me to do this but such is life...

I will be parting ways with my one of very few 1988 Mangrove 17 skiffs. These things were custom built to order in the late 80s and early 90s and were considered well ahead of their time.

Boat is currently located in Palm Bay, FL, but I am moving to Viera temporarily before moving to Utah so the boat will either move up to Viera or to my dad's garage if I can somehow convince him its more important to store it there temporarily...lol..

Specs and stuff:
17ft bow to stern
little over 7ft beam
2009 Yamaha F115 4stroke (approx 300hrs, will update when I get home to look)
side console with Latham controls (includes tilt/trim)
20+ gallon aluminum fuel tank built in under front deck (its at least 20gallons, Ive never run it low enough to know exactly how much)
Simrad Go5 with Navionics (632p+)
Simrad HDI transducer
NMEA2000 network installed with Yamaha interface
21ft Stiffy Hybrid push pole
V Marine push pole holders
Tibor push pole holder
Wang shallow water anchor
Ameratrail tandem axle trailer with swing tongue, built to spec of boat
installed new Gemlux lift and turn latches on the aft and stern hatches
includes removable cushions and removable backrest from Birdsall Marine


Boat was just recently serviced at Boathouse Marine in Melbourne, FL for oil change and routine service, new fuel water separator and new thermostat. Boat has been stored in a mix of inside and outside, but always covered when outside (cover will be included with the boat and it fits over the platforms). Trailer had rear axle hubs replaced about a year ago (don't typically dunk the front axle when launching). Boat/Trailer washed after use in saltwater and motor always flushed thoroughly. Previous owner made it a point to mention he only ever ran non-ethanol, so over the last 5ish years the boat has only known non-ethanol gas.

The boat has been nothing but a joy and while I am upset to be selling it, I know there's someone on here who's going to be getting an excellent boat and piece of skiff history.

Oh yeah, it also drafts like 3.5 inches and is bone dry in a 3ft chop at 35mph with 4 guys on board...:cool:..

...but really
realistic poling draft with two guys, normal gear, and half a tank is 8-9"


*note: trolling motor not included...because its gone

I can attest, this boat is sweet. It eats chop like a dream and is such a cool piece of history. It is also scary fast. GLWS man, I will miss standing on the pointy end.

Very cool and I understand the reluctance to sell. I felt the same when I sold my Bayshore.
