I’m looking to get my carbon fiber poling platform refinished. To me it seems it just needs to be sanded and coated with epoxy again but I do not have much time to mess with it. Does anyone within a few hours of Charleston SC have experience in this kind of thing? TIA

This is unconventional but awesome. I wadefish mostly but on the right days, my eyes are 10 ft off the water. My skiff is 21 ft long so it doesn’t hinder me much and I like having something to hold on to in rough water

Just got some sheet seadeking to cover my poling platform. Should I kind of sand it a little bit before laying the decking down for better gripping?

I have a 2011 Gheenoe super 16 and I want to get a poling platform for it. Gheenoe sells one for $750 but since I’m in south Texas I can’t get one due to no dealers and they don’t ship them. There is a local shop that quoted me $1450 for one bare aluminum with no sissy bar, and a 6 week turn...

New to the forum but have enjoyed reading the posts so far. I have a 2004 13' Boston Whaler I'd like to convert more into a poling skiff. I'd like to add a poling platform to the back and likely a trolling motor to the front. I live in the New Orleans area and was hoping someone might have a...

Hey guys, I’ve looked around the website (still new and learning my way around it) and I didn’t find the answer I was lookin for, so I apologize if this has already been asked but, I’m getting ready to start rebuilding my little Johnsen skiff, I’m going to have to completely rebuild my transom...

Hi! I'm Chris. Nice to meet you. I've been reading your posts, and was hoping to get some advice after some long, somewhat incoherent rambling... At the beginning of the year, my wife and I moved down to Virginia Beach, and as someone who has traveled to flats and keys from Charleston down...

Probably a newbie question here, but can most all transom's hold the weight of a 200 lb guy on a transom mount poling platform. Just seems like a lot of added stress on the transom to me. I have a 1992 scout 141 sport with a 2001 yamaha 40 2-stroke on it that weighs 191 pounds. 40 is its max HP...

Looking for poling platform pros and cons. Will not pole a lot but seems like a good place to fish from when running the trolling motor or when kids are on the bow. Your favorite design or pics would be nice. Friend owns a fabrication shop said he could make what ever I can come up with. Pics...

Adding a poling platform onto my skiff and was thinking of using starboard for the actual top. Has anybody ever done this and had success? I am particularly wondering about what thickness I need. There is a big price different between 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch. Would 1/2 inch do it?

Hello (I'm new to MicroSkiff, so please let me know if this is posted incorrectly.) I want to add a poling platform to my Yamaha, G3, 18' tunnel jon. I intend to use it in the Southeast USA, Florida to Texas chasing bonefish, tarpon, reds, etc. as applicable. I plan to spend the month of May in...

I find myself fishing alone quite a bit and trying to pole my skiff off the stern platform sinks it too much to get a good draft without someone on the bow. I have been poling on the bow, basically backwards till I can spot something then spin it around 180 (if it's wide enough) and try to cast...

I have been using a yeti for a few years now, and I've decided I'm ready for a upgrade. Anyone have pics or ideas for a true poling platform for a jon boat?

I know a lot of you aren’t fans of these boats, but it’s my first Hells bay, and I came from a Gheenoe 15’4 so I still feel like it’s a step up haha. Anyways I make poling platforms, casting platforms, and grab bars ect. Just wanted to show them off a little haha.

I need help with poling platform ideas. I have a 13 Gheenoe and want something that sits a little higher then a cooler. I have good balance so I’m not worried about that. I have a friend that works with aluminum so he can make whatever I want. Post pics and give me some ideas
