I’ve only built fly rods, but it might be worth checking out the Hurricane Calico Jack rods, they make a 7’ and 7’6” MH that match your specs pretty well. I have a pair of the 7’s in ML, M, and MH, and an 8’ MH, all with Daiwa BG reels. They have a soft tip but a lot of backbone and a mediumish + action to me, cork handles and Fuji guides. They’re also $50 and can take somewhat careless/rough handling.
I bought mine at Dick’s before their anti 2nd ammendement campaign, but they are available on Amazon as well. If you plan to really abuse it, buy from Dick’s with their $8 rod warranty, then put a hurting on them!
