    Use a mixed or staged grip to perform rack pulls or deadlifts to achieve greater strength. The grip that is staggered gives a twist in one direction and the underhand grip gives a twist to the opposite direction. This will keep the bar from sliding over your hands. When attempting to increase your muscle mass, it's an excellent idea to consume foods that are rich in protein before a workout and immediately afterwards. Try eating 15 grams 30 minutes prior to your workout, followed by another 15 grams once you finish. This amount of protein can be found in a glass or two of milk.
