LWalker, I recently purchase a boat that is almost identical to your 14' Rivercraft. I was wondering if you did anything to the sides/gunnels of the boat to stiffen them up. I see that you built walk-able gunnels, but were they flimsy before you did so? Mine seem to be pretty flimsy.

        3) if I'm not mistaking you sanded, primed, sand primed, painted 1st coat, allowed it to dry, then painted the second coat? You did your sanding with 120 grit? Did you use this same method on the inside of the hull too?

        Any tips/advice is greatly appreciated.
This will be my first fiberglass boat that I've worked on.

I used epoxy and west 410 or Cabosil depending on the application.

I used the Rustoleum Topsides for the entire boat. Make sure you get some enamel hardener to add to it.

Thanks a bunch for such a detailed response.

The areas on the outside of the hull that need to be filled/repaired are on the side (2 places) and (1) on a strake on the bottom, it is about 3iches long and maybe a half inch wide, relatively deep too.
