Honda’s entry in the 25/30 horsepower class uses a 3-cylinder, 3-carburetor SOHC design. Displacement for the Honda is 552 cc (33.7 cu. in.) with a bore & stroke of 61 x 63 mm (2.4 x 2.48 inches). Full Throttle RPM Range is 5000-6000 RPM with a gear ratio of 2.08:1 (13/27). Their Short Shaft Tiller weighs 155 pounds and Long Shaft Power Trim and Tilt Tiller model comes in at 184 pounds. Alternator output, electric 10 Amps (126 Watts) and manual 4 Amps (50 Watts).

Tiller arm is center mounted with shift control built into the arm. Adjustments for throttle and steering friction allow easier control. Up front shift lever, PTT switch, and engine alert lamps provide added convenience.

Honda also offers an optional gas-filled cylinder for the manual trim model. This makes it easy to tilt the engine for running in shallow water, or to raise it completely out of the water for protection.
