The Jones instructions
This fly is called the Jones. I saw it tied at the Fly Fisherman in Titusville by the originator. I cant remember his full name so he can get the credit. Topwater fly. Loved by snook, redfish, trout, tarpon.
Use a wide gap hook. Preferably an Owner Mosquito hook in a size 1 or bigger. Tail is EP, use white or the 3D baitfish belly. Take about a pencil width and tie at hook bend or just in front. The tie peacock hearl, or thin grizzly hackle tips on the side of the EP. One on each side. This creates a lateral line.

Next you tie on a collar of maribou. I used two pieces I believe.

After that (I change to chartreuse thread here) I spin one to two bunches of deer hair to make the head. Really the difference is that you want to fill the hook shank to the eye with deer hair.

Trim to your liking. I like to trim the bottom kinda flat. Rides better. This is a topwater/sub-surface fly depending on what you want it to do.

If you tie this a little bigger the lateral line tied with small thin hackles works the best. Also with a longer EP tail. I have had snook in the glades come completely out of the water for this fly on the initial attack. ENJOY!!! ;D
