Ugly Stripper
You've got a dirty mind...
Spring has sprung, time to change out all that old line. I needed to make a new stripper as the old one had disappeared during the build of the Grass Slipper. Easy to make, easy to use.
Get a 16 ounce plastic bottle, one with a straight section in the middle between the two bulges at the top and bottom. Clean it out, and drill a hole through the center of the cap. The hole will need to fit a 2 inch long 10/24 machine screw. Spin a nut and washer up to lock the screw to the cap.

Then cut the bottle in half at the middle of the straight section.

Then cut a slit from the beginning of the bulge to the newly cut edge.

Then do the same with the other half of the bottle.

The slits cut in the straight section allow the bottom half to fit inside the top half, and is stopped by the bulge.

With the cap on the bottle, insert in a drill and snug the chuck.

The end of the line from the fishing reel slips into the slit and is held there by the tight fit between the 2 halves of the bottle.

Remember to open the bail or put the reel in freespool, and start the drill spinning slowly. The line wraps around the bottle, keep it in the flat section between the bulges. Increase speed, and watch for bare spool starting to show. Decrease speed to finish removing the last few feet of line. Cut the end of the line from the reel.

Pull the bottle apart.

Slip the coiled line off the stripper and use a tag end to tie it up. Ready to take to the recycle bin at the local bait and tackle shop.

I told you it was an ugly stripper ...
