DIY Safety Lanyard
Ever need a super strong safety lanyard? Longer kill switch lanyard, etc? Here is a quick, easy and cheap way to make your own.
Here is a basic lanyard.

Here is how to make 'em.

Take about 6-8" of 1/2-4/4" dowel and drill holes as shown. Insert mono thru one hole then wrap mono tightly down to the next hole and insert through it. I'm using 300# mono in the illustrations but you can use up to 600# or even weedeater string.
Boil mono and dowel for 5 minutes then drop into ice water. Uncoil mono from dowel and add whatever end fittings you need. Secure fittings with leader sleeves.
