Had some fun this weekend with some reds.  Saw a bunch of fish, but had trouble getting them to eat at first. Caught 2 on Saturday, 7 on Sunday, and had my buddy Gordo come down today.  Well, we got things figured out.  I'm not going to say how many fish we caught, but I was able to get a couple of short vids on my iPhone.

Most of the fish looked like this, only not as many spots as this one:

Nicely done!  Any net marks on em?

Have had a really good number of nice days one em around MHC & Downeast and probably 40/50% have scars/wounds from having been in a gillnet.

Maybe the Good Lord and a Republican Gov will finally be what North Carolina needs to make em gamefish  and take the price off their heads. Embarrassed

Good Fishing!!!

A lot of them did have net marks, with that slimy "snot grass" algae growing from the wounds.  We saw several trout in the shallows that had net scars as well.

Hope NC will solve that real soon, with both trout and reds and even stripers (rockfish).  Thanks for the reply!
