they say "the early bird gets the worm" but today it was more like the "early bird avoids the idiots".   After our early start i found my self poling up to a flooded oyster bar in the dark.  we were greeted by the sounds of snook busting mullet and everything else that washed by. It did not take long for gabe to feed this one a mirror lure soft plastic.



once the sun started to break the horizon i pushed up to the tree line and started to work my way up the Island.  soon this guy ate the same soft plastic.



As the sun continued to rise so did the amount of traffic. Before long there were people running up on plain in the no wake zone just outside the no motor zone and Bay boats running five knots with there trolling motors in the no motor zone.  So with our new friends moving in we decided to move out.  i set us up on a trout drift well away from the crowd. i thought a big gator trout would be a nice way to end the trip. But before we could make that happen one more boat of clowns had to drive right up to me and then circle around the front of me, cutting of my drift.  As i told them how i felt, i thought about following them up to the Island to give a little back but i decided to take the high road and continue on my journey for some trout before we called it. so we hit another flat on the way back and accomplished that.  total for the day 2-snook  1-red  and seven trout.  over all it was a good morning but it made me appreciate my week day trips.
